Volunteers at the Downing House Museum help make the history of our community more accessible. Putting their talents to work at the Downing House Museum and Museum Complex, volunteers are essential to the work. Volunteers greet visitors, conduct tours and programs, staff the Museum Shop, assist with research, help preserve artifacts and much more.
People with special skills, flexible schedules or an interest in history are welcome to join our volunteer program.
The Downing House Museum would not exist today with the generous support of community-minded individuals. Donations support the Museum’s mission of historic preservation and education and have allowed the Downing House Museum to endure as one of Missouri’s historic property museums
Our Outreach team needs your help immediately. Basic building, ground maintenance and Utilities are a major expense . Make your contribution now.
As one of the most historically significant buildings in Northeast Missouri, we work hard to preserve our buildings and important collection of furnishings, family possessions, photographs and archival material to serve as a center for education and community outreach programming.
