I love the museum complex. I live in CO, and it has been nine years since I was there, but I send a small donation every year because this historical preservation is such a worthy effort. My great great aunt, Eliza Chaney married William Carroll Jones, a brother of Mary Jones Downing. Eliza's mother, Nancy Greenwade Chaney, was a pioneer in Scotland County. She lived to be 94, and raised her younger children as a widow. Then she helped raise grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was able to enjoy great-great grandchildren for several years.

my great grandpa was jack brumback and he donated all of his civil war stuff to and this website only says civil war things. I think it should say more about the civil war stuff and show pictures of it

My Father was Harold B Phillips. He was an early pilot and many of his pictures are located in the Downing House. I have not been there since 1990 and was wondering if you saw the display of this things. He was also a test pilot for the Pheasant airpleane when it was build in Memphis. Thank you, Mary Ann Worthen

I will be visiting Memphis in the coming month and I am so glad to have found this website. It sounds like a fascinating place to visit.
